Steve, :) Being a newbie to art I really had not given gender a thought. The classes and work shops I have taken up to this point have all been by women. My mentor and teacher (jilljeffersgoodell.com)is a wonderful artist and sweet woman. I suppose I prefer the company of women to men. I like the ladies and I think that my art has benefited by the eyes of women including my wife who is not an artist but who has a keen eye. My current mediums are pastels and graphite in landscapes and portraits. I paint for the joy of it because I can and because like many artists, I am driven to do it. I can only speak for myself when I say that art is personal to me whether I am creating it or purchasing it. I will not buy from a gender standpoint and certainly not judge from the same.
