It would take too long to comment on every point you mentioned, but I do want to say I disagree. Very few artists (proportionately) will become well known. There are hundreds of talented artists, among them women, from which to choose. Because a woman started painting "late in life" does not mean she "missed out" on her opportunities. It means the things that have shaped her life will now be part of what she brings to her canvas, paper, clay...whatever. We all have a certain timeline in our lives. I will not blame "gender biases" because I "chose" to raise my children, homeschool them and help my husband in his career. Whether we make choices based on timidity, insecurity or trauma, the point is "we" make those choices. Your work is lovely. Congratulations on the successes you have experienced.
